Our previous President, Lynne Dawson, sadly stepped down at the end of 2011 having been the President since 2002. Lynne lives in the area and was always very supportive despite being established as one of Britain's most versatile and popular sopranos and enjoying a busy career which combines teaching at Conservatoires and performing concerts and recitals with frequent recordings and opera productions. Lynne is also well known for her performance of Libera Me from Verdi’s Requiem at Princess Diana’s funeral in September 1997.  Lynne has a Professorship at The Royal Northern College of Music.
